Libyan Ministry of Health asked for a redeployment to hospitals of 26 Filipino nurses who were evacuated from war-torn Libya, the Department of Foreign Affairs announced Saturday.

DFA spokesman Raul Hernandez reported the news in his Twitter account @dfaspokesperson, saying: PHEmbassy Libya: 26 nurses evacuated from Bani Walid to be reassigned to hospitals after Libyan Min. of Health asked their redeployment.

It was also Spokesman Hernandez who reported that the Philippine embassy in Libya evacuated 28 workers from Bani Walid to Tripoli last October 4. He further denied earlier claims of militant group Migrante that 22 Pinoy nurses and medical workers were kidnapped in Libya.

He added that the evacuated nurses and workers in Libya were safe in the embassy quarters.
