Update 2/2/2012: You may now email your applications to Philhealth Cares project!
They will be called Philhealth CARES nurses or Customer Assistance, Relations and Empowerment Staff nurses.
Philhealth president Dr. Eduardo Banzon said in a press conference that these Philhealth nurses will be tasked to provide “superior customer care” to members and dependents who seek treatment in Philhealth-accredited hospitals. They will also facilitate the payment of insurance premiums in the cashier departments of public hospitals and perform on-the-spot eligibility checks in the hospital setting.
“We will provide gainful employment to some of our idle nurses, while improving our customer care services, and fulfilling President Aquino’s hope and dream to provide complete health insurance to all Filipinos, rich and poor,” Banzon said. “We prioritize big hospitals and level 2 hospitals,” he added.
Philhealth CARES nurses project will still be finalized and approved by the board of directors in the next few months.
This is good news to all unemployed nurses. We just hope that they have a reasonable compensation package for these Philhealth Cares nurses.
