Nurses all over the country will now get a chance to be represented in Congress after Commission on Elections (Comelec) approved the Ang Nars partylist application for May 2013 elections.
Chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. announced on November 14 that the en banc unanimously approved the application of Ang Nars because they represent the marginalized group of professional nurses.
“They are marginalized professionals and all of their nominees are marginalized,” said Brillantes. “They represent nurses who are unemployed and also those who are making a sacrifice by staying in the country instead of working abroad.”

Ang Nars became the second partylist group approved, after Pilipinos With Disabilities (PWD).
