A Filipino nurse in United Kingdom accused of three counts of murder is set to face trial on Monday.

Victorino Chua, 48, of Churchill Street, Heaton Norris allegedly killed Tracey Arden, 44, Arnold Lancaster, 71, and Derek Weaver, 83 in 2011 at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport town of Greater Manchester, England.

He was also charged of one count of grievous bodily harm with intent and of administering a poison, 22 counts of attempted grievous bodily harm, and eight counts of attempting to cause a poison to be administered.

Chua was arrested on January 2012 and he denied all the accusations. He was later released on bail.

In September 2014, Manchester Evening News reported that Chua also allegedly forged a document in an application to work at Newlands private care home in Heaton Moor, Stockport, in 2008.

These forgery charges were consolidated with the others, the report said.

It added that the case includes at least 619 witnesses and 27,000 pages of statements and exhibits, with expert evidence central to the case.
